Tips for getting a better Hotel Room

Booking a hotel room is a little like buying a mobile phone, If you don’t do your homework beforehand to find the best combination of features, quality, and price, you’re likely to feel burned when you find out after buying it that another store had a better phone for less money.

The worst thing about getting hustled with a hotel room is that a better deal is still luring you in from the next hotel’s price chart. To avoid such a position, have a look at these tips to have an unmatched hotel experience.

Prior to Booking

Booking a hotel room takes hard work and hours of penetrating into the internet just to find that right deal. Follow these steps to ensure a pleasant hotel stay.

  • Browse travel websites

Many hours are spent to search the perfect price and a great deal, all those can be saved by websites like Trivago. Websites like these take the burden off the individuals head and deliver search results in bulk and in a sorted way. So, you can rest assured that you will find the best hotel and the best deal.

  • Take a look at cancellation policies.

The research of the cancellation terms of a commercial website is a must. Most sites have stopped charging the cancellation fee and some have also started refunding every penny after the cancellation. Make sure to read reviews and have a glance on the refunding policy.

  • Read the reviews.

Have a look at consumer review sites like TripAdvisor.com, which aggregates reviews of hotels by former customers. The true quality of a hotel is in the testimonies of its customers.

  • Dig deeper on deals that are too good to be true.

If a deal seems lower than other hotels, make sure to check out the location and the structure of the building. Customers get ripped off by an unfinished and yet to be fully constructed hotel.

  • Look up the location.

Feeding the hotels’ location into Google maps is a very fine idea. Zoom in to see exactly where it is as well as the surrounding area. Google street view will help immensely in this scenario.

  • Call ahead.

Calling the targeted hotel and inquiring right ahead is how you can be assured that you have a safe place to stay. It will help you gain confidence in the hotel and its staff and their behaviors.

Booking and Arrival

If you have targeted a hotel to book, it’s great. But, booking and having a nice travel to the destination is another battle to win.

  • Check for these before. Before finalizing the hotel room make sure to check out these:
    • The deposit amount
    • Any hotel discounts offered (senior discount, government discount, military, etc.)
    • Check-in and check-out times.
    • Any charge extra fees for your stay (resort fee, parking, etc.)
  • Request the type of room. Demanding the type of room is subjective. If there’s a beautiful view, you might want to stay in a front facing room, but the same cannot be said for the room near the party hall.
  • Book with a credit card. A credit card is the most secure way of payment and you will get details of everything you are charged for.
  •  Confirm the reservation. Check with the hotel by calling them a week earlier to ensure your confirmed hotel room and requests.
  • Get it in writing. While most hotels will send you an email confirmation, go ahead and ask for a written one.

Make sure o follow these steps and tips to have a peaceful yet reasonable stay. And from the money saved, buy something better than to spend it on an overpriced hotel.

Thank us later, we’ve always got you covered.
